What an awesome couple and one beautiful Bond themed Kenworth! I had the honor of meeting Dean and Bernice at the 2010 Alberta Big Rig Weekend. The truck has 18 sided pipes and a ton of other custom features. Unfortunately we lost Bernice to a battle with cancer but I'll never forget her smile and her laugh.

I would like to dedicate this award to the Joe Kuiepers family of Calgary and area.
Joe was the first person who taught me to drive and gave me the HONOR to drive one of his big truck over the open highway. We lost Joe on Aug of 09. but had stayed freinds over all the years.
I have travelled all 49 states and 10 provinces in Canada. Some more than others. I love to drive so it would be easier to ask where I have not been.
Life on the road is like a great Dessert after a fine meal.
I love meeting new people, seeing new places, re-newing old aquaintances, having the freedom behind the wheel and being my own boss.
What I disliked the most about life on the road was missing out on the day to day events of my children growing up. Next comes the 4 wheelers who inadvertantly put there lives into the hands of a trucker. They do not realize the power and weight of a 18 wheeler, while they are cutting in and out of traffic. We can not stop of a DIME. Thank the LORD I have never hit anyone- but there has been close calls.
There are 2 generations of Nagy's on the road today.
Dean started trucking almost 40 years ago. While Dean owned Unique Freight both brothers Benard and Brad drove for him. Darlene his sister did the books and was a big help in getting the company up and running. All 3 of his sons also worked for the company. Dean (Lee) and Daryel as drives and Dale in Dispatch. Dale is now a O/O working with Dean at Snowy Owl Transportation out of High River,Ab.
I want to share my philosopy(???) with Canada. All my life it has been "If your not having FUN don't do it". All the years of trucking this has stood the test of time.
I met my wife Bernice in 2002. When she came trucking with me it made life on the highway fun and interesting again. She looks after all the paperwork,(a truckers nightmare) phone calls, pick ups, deliveries and border crossing. Cooks in the truck. She even comes outside and gets her hands dirty helping tie down and tarp the loads. Bernice does not drive, but sees to the polishing and the white lettering on the tires. We have a truck that shows we have PRIDE IN THE RIDE.
