the 10th Anniversary Wowtrucks Calendar photo Shoot Series
Saturday, June 25th
dominion bridge Location: winnipeg manitoba
Manitoba has always punched over its weight class when it comes to the number of great looking trucks it produces. It can brag about some of the finest fleets on the continent. Over the years, the Wowtrucks Calendar has celebrated quite a few of them: Dhaliwal, Dyck, Brandt, Danylchuk... all family names that are now household names to the transport men & women across the country.
The 2017 Wowtrucks Calendar will be the 10th Anniversary edition of Canada's Big Rig Calendar. We're holding special Big Rig photo shoots across Canada and inviting truckers from each community with trucks they'd like showcased to show up for photo shoot events. We kicked things off at Mosaic Stadium in Regina where we got to take historic photos both in front of and inside this iconic field that is entering its farewell season and will be torn down within 2 years. We got some amazing images both of groups of trucks and individual rigs that will be keepsakes for generations to come. Manitoba: Its your turn! The Old Dominion Bridge Site: 1460 Dublin Ave Winnipeg MB Saturday June 25th starting at 2 PM. Dominion Bridge was a company with locations across Canada that built steel bridges. Big. Tough. Tall. The same qualities it takes to make it as a professional driver on the road. The location will provide some inspiring backdrops for the cool trucks we're anticipating will register for the event. It holds special meaning for me as it pays tribute to the steel industry that my father worked in for 33 years of his life. We'll be taking group shots of all of the trucks / drivers together to use in the 2017 10 Anniversary Wowtrucks Calendar. I'll also be spending time with each driver/rig getting individual shots / video interviews etc. Its a great opportunity. If you'd like your rig featured as part of Canada's Big Rig Calendar here is your chance. Join Us! Start by filling out the "Register Now" form below and we'll send you more details. |
About David & WOWTRUCKSI've had the privilege of spending the last 25 years of my life serving Canada's transport sector. I spent 15 years with Shell Canada in service/sales and marketing roles around fuel and lubricant products for trucks. While at Shell, Canadian drivers always expressed a love of the Rotella SuperRigs Calendar produced in the USA every year and wondered if they'd ever get the same for Canada. When I left Shell over 10 years ago I decided that it was my opportunity to create Canada's Big Rig Calendar. Mike "Motor" Rosenau kicked things off as the January truck in the 2008 Wowtrucks Calendar and we've been celebrating 13 Canadian drivers through this high quality wall calendar every year since. Aside from the Wowtrucks Calendar I also shoot/produce private fleet and OEM dealership calendars as well as shooting the occasional truck themed wedding! I am currently a photo contributor to both Truck News / Truck West and the great folks at Pro-Trucker Magazine.
My passion is to tell your story through creative, inspiring images. Life on the road isn't easy. Not everyone can do what you do. We need you. Thats what the calendar is all about. That is why I do what I do. I hope to see you this summer as we tour Canada with special 10th Anniversary Calendar Shoot Events. Happy Travels! David @ Wowtrucks |
frequent Questions AnsweredQ1: Am I guaranteed a spot in the calendar?
A1: Yes. If you bring your ride that shows pride in the ride. The image used for the calendar will be a group shot of the trucks and drivers at this location together. Q2: When & how long? A2: The shoot will start at 2 pm on Saturday June 25th and will last for at least 3 hours. We'll get the group shots for the calendar and I'll be taking individual rig shots as well in case any driver wants to purchase prints/canvases/poster calendars etc for their office or home. Q3: What happens if it rains? A3: I'm in Winnipeg for the entire weekend and will connect with every driver closer to the date as we have a better idea of the weather forecast. If need be we can move the shoot to earlier or later on Saturday or Sunday. We will find a time that weekend to get these photos done! |
